Scouts Wales - 22nd World Jamboree


Following a very successful first day of interviews at the end of February, a few places still remain within our leadership team.

Any adult wishing to be considered for a Unit Leader or Assistant Unit Leader position for any of the Welsh Jamboree Units must fill out an application form and return it to Scouts Wales by 27th March 2009.

A full job description for Unit Leader and Assistant Unit Leader together with an application form is available for download below. Alternatively, a paper copy can be ordered from the Welsh Scout Council offices.

Applicants, shortlisted for a Unit leader or Assistant Unit Leader position, maybe requested to attend an interview. Interviews will be held at the Media Resource Centre, Llandrindod Wells on Saturday 4th April 2009. Please put this dates in your diary.

A Jamboree Unit consists of 36 Explorer Scouts, 3 Assistant Leaders and 1 Unit Leader

Any Scout or Explorer Scout who was born between 25 July 1993 and 27 July 1997 is eligible to apply for Jamboree selection.

Please download the attached "Youth Participant Path to Selection" document. This document contains information on what a World Jamboree is all about; what your next steps should be; and all of the important dates - please put these into your diaries.


Facts about Sweden

Sweden covers an area of 449.964 sq.kms. This is roughly the same size as the State of California. The country is about 1.900 kms long north to south and 400 kms wide east to west at the widest point. This corresponds to the US Eastern Seaboard from the Canadian border to the Florida keys. The population is 9 million or 21 per sq.km.The capital is Stockholm (area pop. 1,3 mill).
